As part of its boutique “Kitten’s Joy” consignment at the upcoming Fasig-Tipton November Sale, Ramsey Farm will offer the buyers of its graded stakes producing mares CARDINALLI and BLUSH the right to breed the purchased mare back to KITTEN’S JOY in 2012 at no additional cost.
CARDINALLI is the dam of multiple graded stakes winner BANNED, while BLUSH has produced DERBY KITTEN, winner of this year’s Grade 3 Coolmore Lexington Stakes, as well as the stakes winner WILLIAM’S KITTEN. Both mares are currently in-foal to Kitten’s Joy. “These top producing mares, accompanied by the right to breed back to Kitten’s Joy in 2012, represent a fantastic package to prospective buyers,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “Kitten’s Joy is one of the great stallions in the world today, and these mares have already produced graded stakes winners on the Kitten’s Joy cross. This is the first instance of which I can recall that one can purchase a mare carrying a full-sibling to a graded stakes winner, along with the extra incentive to breed that mare back to that stallion again. Mr. Ramsey is offering a tremendous opportunity here, and we are grateful that he has chosen to do so at our November Sale.”
Kitten’s Joy is currently the Leading Third Crop Sire in 2011 ranked by earnings ($5.28 million), stakes winners (13), and stakes victories (17). He is also the Leading Third Crop Sire International, and the youngest sire with only three crops to race in the top 10 of the North American Leading Sire List. His 22 individual stakes performers this year include Grade 1 Alcibiades Stakes winner STEPHANIE’S KITTEN, as well as graded stakes winners BANNED, BIG BLUE KITTEN, DERBY KITTEN, and HOLIDAY FOR KITTEN. His leading earner to date is multiple stakes winner DEAN’S KITTEN ($802,950), just recently beaten a nose by Cape Blanco in the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Invitational at Belmont Park. DEAN’S KITTEN (Breeders’ Cup Turf) is also one of five Kitten’s Joy sired contenders for this year’s Breeders’ Cup, along with COALPORT (Juvenile Turf), GUNG HO (Juvenile Turf), HOLIDAY FOR KITTEN (Turf Sprint), and STEPHANIE’S KITTEN (Juvenile Fillies Turf).
Ramsey Farm’s boutique Fasig-Tipton November consignment also includes three “selected” Kitten’s Joy weanlings – two s and a filly
